Squat + Reset is a unique kind of workout. It is a somatic strength experience that blends strength training with nervous system recovery tools. We train hard, reset intentionally, and repeat so your body learns how to handle stress both in and out of the gym.
You will train your body AND your nervous system, build community and have healthy snacks at each class.
Somatics is a body-based approach to mental wellness. Stress and tension do not only live in your thoughts. They also show up physically in the body through tight muscles, chronic pain and shallow breathing. Somatic practices help you notice these sensations and use intentional movement to release stress from the body instead of holding them in. This allows stress and trauma cycles to be released and new healthier daily patterns to emerge.
Somatic fitness combines strength training with somatic movement. When you exercise, your heart rate rises and your body enters a state that can feel similar to stress. In this class, we intentionally move between strength exercises and somatic movement so your body learns how to handle stress without overwhelm and come back down from it into regulation. Over time, this helps build resilience, confidence, and a healthier response to stress both in and out of the gym.

In class, we intentionally move between strength based exercises and nervous system recovery (somatic movement). This teaches your body that it can experience stress without becoming overwhelmed. Over time, this builds resilience, helps you release what is no longer serving you, and supports you in stepping more fully into your joy.
You are not just building endurance. You are building embodied resilience.
Squat + Reset Signature classes are 90 minutes in length. The first 10 minutes include a somatic meditation. Then we transition into a 60 minute somatic strength workout where strength exercises are combined with somatic movement and freeform dance to release stress and reclaim joy and self-love.We spend the final portion of our time integrating your experience through journaling and discussing reflections together in the group to build community and heal together.Yes, this class is longer than a typical fitness class. Because it isn't typical. This space was built with intentionality to help you heal your nervous system AND get in a good workout. It was built for you to be seen and heal with others. All other class types are 60-75 minutes long. Please check the class schedule for details.
In this workout, you can expect strength supersets that may elevate your heart rate and fatigue your muscles.
That said, modifications are always provided (lighter weights, no weights, less range of motion, etc.) and participants are encouraged to move at their own pace. A core part of somatic fitness is learning to listen internally to what your body needs. You can slow down, modify, or pause at any time.
Nope! You are beautiful as you are. All bodies are welcomed here. All movements are modifiable and scalable. You are encouraged to move at your own pace and honor your body. This develops resilience, self-trust and self-love.
Not exactly. Yoga often involves specific postures and longer holds that aim for alignment or flexibility. There is usually a clear external shape the body is meant to make.
Somatic movement is different. It is more intuitive and internally focused. There is no “perfect form” to achieve. The goal is not how the movement looks, but how it feels in your body.
In Squat + Reset, we combine strength training with somatic movement. That means you will lift weights and build muscular strength, and you will also use intuitive, body aware movement to release tension and build nervous system capacity.

Not at all! Most people who attend Squat + Reset are being introduced to somatics for the first time. Everything is guided step by step, and no prior experience with somatic practices or strength training is required. You will simply be invited to notice what you feel in your body and move in ways that support strength, release, and recovery.
In class, you will be guided to notice sensations in your body.
You may be invited to notice where you feel tension or stress. During strength sets, you may be invited to connect to power, openness, or groundedness. After strength sets, you will use somatic movement to release tension and settle your system.
We intentionally move between strength exercises and somatic movements so your body learns that it can experience stress and return to steadiness. This repetition builds resilience in real time.
There is no right or wrong way to feel. You are simply practicing awareness, which will support you in handling emotions outside of the gym.
After class, we will have time for reflection, light snacks and networking to build real community. At select events, a local wellness business will also be present with products or services available (at times for additional purchase) so participants can continue supporting their wellness journey outside the gym.
